KANSAS CITY, MO. - Carpathia Summits (a division of Carpathia Marketing Corp) announced a new publication, first in the interior design industry.
“Much like Carpathia’s networking summits, this publication is very different than a typical trade mag” Commented Buck Peavey the CEO of the Peavey corp and founder of Carpathia Marketing Corp. “Owning multiple “supplier” companies in a variety of industries we started to notice that the industry tradeshows and publications focussed mostly on the buyer. Exhibitors and Advertisers are viewed and treated as “salesy” second class citizens…. Ever noticed in an expo hall how the Air Conditioning is quickly shut off on a Vegas 100 degree day as the sweating exhibitors frantically set up or tear down their booths before or after an expensive show?…. we did… and watch out when they start rolling up the carpet before you have had a chance to take your sport coat off” Peavey commented “We also noticed that all of the industry trade pubs primarily wrote about buyer peers and other major industry flagships and industry breaking news. The suppliers that deliver the design end product are typically only allowed “the stage” via the expensive full page ads they have to pay dearly for.
It’s not just the Suppliers that are groaning. Buyers are looking for a change as well. Carpathia surveyed a number of major decision making buyers most of which communicated the fact they are mostly searching for new vendors that are different and unique compared to the ones they typically see… more importantly ones they can actually trust as real people. In today’s world, typically buyers only see and find the vendors that have the enormous marketing budgets donning the largest ads in a magazine or biggest booths at a show.
The Carpathian is not a thick magazine full of ads. Like the Carpathia events, it’s much shorter in length, a more intimate, easy to read magazine that is focussed on highlighting special, trustworthy vendors that can make the difference in a critical build project. One will notice another major difference in this publication. Much of the highlight is on the PERSON not simply the PRODUCT. Julie Schumacher, Carpathia Summits President commented “As we have learned with our networking summits, it’s about bonding people together with common interest. Buyers and Suppliers alike are yearning for the old days where relationships are the core to great business partnerships. We deliver that with both our Summits and the new Publication The Carpathian.”
